Taco Dip

This easy taco dip recipe has a creamy base made with cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning. Dress it up and make a loaded dip by layering on your favorite taco toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups (16 ounces) sour cream
  • 1 envelope taco seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 can (2-1/4 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained
  • Optional: Cooked ground beef, sliced green onions and crushed nacho-flavored tortilla chips

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sour cream, taco mix, cayenne and lime juice until smooth. Spread into the bottom of a 9-in. pie plate or shallow serving dish. Top with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and olives. If desired, top with beef, green onions and chips.

I wanted to spice up a traditional taco dip recipe, so I added cayenne pepper for some heat and fresh lime juice for a refreshing taste. To make it different, I also layered this taco dip with a few surprises like lettuce, olives, tomatoes and cheese.
