Sausage and Sauerkraut

Sausage and sauerkraut is an easy 30-minute recipe that the whole family will love. We make this meat and potatoes dish in a single skillet, but you could easily bake it in the oven or use a slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 6 medium red potatoes, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 small onion, halved and sliced
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 1 package (16 ounces) sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, saute the potatoes in oil until lightly browned, 5-6 minutes. Stir in onion; saute until tender, 3-4 minutes. Add the sausage, sauerkraut and pepper. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat until heated through, 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
