This rhubarb dump cake couldn't be easier to make, but the result will be a dessert with a complex and truly unique flavor profile, at once tart, sweet and rich.
Ingredients
- 4 cups chopped fresh rhubarb
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 ounces strawberry gelatin
- 1 package white cake mix
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Arrange rhubarb in greased 13x9-in. baking dish. In a small bowl, combine sugar and gelatin powder; sprinkle over rhubarb. Sprinkle dry cake mix over gelatin mixture. Pour hot water over cake mix (do not stir). Drizzle with butter.
- Bake 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
