Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons 2% milk
  • Maple syrup, honey, ground cinnamon and vanilla extract, optional

Directions

  1. Place water in a large saucepan; bring to a boil. Stir in oats and salt; reduce heat to low. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until oats are soft. Remove from heat; stir in milk. Cover; let sit 3-4 minutes. Stir in optional ingredients, if desired.
