With this easy copycat recipe, you can enjoy In-N-Out animal style fries whenever the craving strikes.
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 package (32 ounces) frozen French fried potatoes
- 12 slices slices American cheese
Directions
- Combine the first 7 ingredients. Refrigerate, covered, until serving. Meanwhile, in a small skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions; cook and stir until softened, 6-8 minutes. Reduce heat to low; cook until deep golden brown, 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook French fries according to package directions. Preheat broiler. Place cooked fries on a baking sheet; top with cheese slices. Broil 2-3 in. from heat until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes. Top with onions; drizzle with sauce. Serve immediately.
