Start your day the indulgent way. A mile-high stack of chocolate pancakes will make any morning memorable.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup baking cocoa
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/4 cups buttermilk
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Whipped cream and chocolate syrup, for serving
Directions
- In a large bowl, whisk together first six ingredients. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, butter and vanilla extract; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips. Let sit 5-10 minutes.
- Preheat griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease griddle. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto griddle; cook until bubbles on top begin to pop. Flip; cook until second side is browned. If desired, serve with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.
