Soft, buttery, sweet brioche bread is the star of this decadent brioche French toast recipe. Smother it with all your favorite toppings, from simple maple syrup to whipped mascarpone and fresh berries.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups 2% milk
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 slices day-old brioche bread (1 inch thick)
- Optional toppings: Butter, maple syrup, fresh berries and confectioners' sugar
Directions
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the first 5 ingredients. Preheat a greased griddle over medium heat.
- Dip bread into egg mixture, letting it soak 5 seconds on each side. Cook on griddle until golden brown on both sides. Serve with toppings as desired.
