Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE:
- 1/2 cup butter, cubed
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4-1/2 cups vanilla ice cream
Directions
- In a large bowl, beat the egg, brown sugar, butter and vanilla. Combine flour and salt; gradually beat into egg mixture. Fold in chips.
- Transfer to a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack.
- For sauce, in a large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in the brown sugar, cream and salt. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from the heat. Stir in vanilla. Cut brownies into squares; serve with ice cream and sauce.
